ANIMATIOOON

I have been messing with Pencil for a while now, but have been reluctant to really invest a lot of time in it, as previous efforts with sound and exporting clips have ended glitchily. Today I randomly tried to export something I made a while ago, and it worked! It's only one second long, but it is exciting nonetheless. Here is a link.

A little sketch of a guy fishing

A sciencey gun

A girl in a skirt and sweater

I have long known about Clint Eastwood's squint, which I pathetically try to recreate on any day with enough sun. I have recently discovered Sergio Leone, but have yet to attempt to recreate him.

Sketchings of late

Back to school! Which means less laptop time but more sketchbook time. Here are a few things I drew the other day.

more monster work

Been messin round with this monster too long
Gotta get me a new monster
One that don't treat me so bad
Drinkin whiskey under the porch
Oh lawwwd
Got the monster drawin' blues
(not really though it's actually a lot of fun)

This is my first real attempt at blending values in photoshop, which I suppose makes it my second attempt ever? It's a bit easier in photoshop than it was with acrylics, which was a lot of trial and error. However, since I keep changing the anatomy/realizing the values aren't really established well to begin with, I have to revise a lot. Still a work in progress, but I like the binocular eyes he's grown.

friday it is not but i'm taking friday off so that's even better... THURSDAY!

I have been watching FZDSCHOOL's channel on youtube and picking up some tips on composition. I decided to try to make a concept art type drawing. Here's how the initial stages are going.

Original sketch

monster redrawn a bit

and what I have so far

There are still a lot of things to add and change but I think it's coming along alright. I still have a lot to learn about lighting, perspective... well drawing in general. But hopefully this will help me learn things.

sketchbook 3

Some more sketchbook stuff OH YEAH.

J. Bauer

Jack Bauer after blasting a witness. 24 is kind of ridiculous, but it is a pretty exciting show all the same.
